Athletes submit an order of performance before the competition. Performing an asana other than the one declared scores zero for that asana.

How a score is built

Traditional - each asana = (posture 0-6 + stability & presentation 0-2 + time 0-2) × base value (compulsory: 1.00). A judge's total is the sum of their asanas; the five judge totals lose the highest and the lowest and the other three are averaged; the evaluator's penalty is subtracted.
Artistic Single - each asana = execution 0-10 × base value; four D judges (highest and lowest dropped).
Artistic Pair - each formation = ((Player 1 execution × BV1 + Player 2 execution × BV2) ÷ 2 + formation 0-10) ÷ 2.
Rhythmic Pair - each asana = ((Player 1 + Player 2 execution) ÷ 2) × base value.

Music events: final = difficulty + artistry + timing − evaluator penalty. A score is never complete until every sheet of the panel is submitted - a missing sheet is not counted as zero.

Judging panels

Every event has its own panel, so several stages can run at once. The jury is separate and sits for the whole championship.

  1. Each judge fills in their own sheet for an athlete and presses Submit; the sheet is then locked.
  2. When every sheet is in, the score is provisional. The chief judge reviews it, may return a sheet for a correction (with a reason), and approves it for display - only then is it announced and shown on the public board.
  3. Appeals and score enquiries are recorded by the stage manager with the time received and decided by the jury.
  4. The competition director gives the final approval once every issue is settled; the round is then locked. Every change after a first submission is kept in the edit history with the old value, the new value, who and why.

Rounds, qualification & awards

Every event starts at the Quarter Final. After each round the organiser sends the qualifiers through; athletes tied at the cut-off all go through.

Percentages that aren't whole athletes are rounded up (21 × 20% = 4.2 → 5). Absent and disqualified athletes don't count. The numbers can be changed under Tournament settings.

Time marks (Annexure A & B)

Holding at least 75% of the required time earns marks. First attempt: 2 × seconds ÷ required (max 2). If the first attempt falls short, a second attempt is allowed for seconds ÷ required (max 1).

Minimum hold for marks: 45 s. Below that the asana scores 0 for time.

Penalties

  • Changing the declared sequence while performing (compulsory or optional): after change #1: 2 marks in total, after change #2: 4 marks in total, after change #3: 6 marks in total (the specification asks for this reading to be confirmed). More than three changes → disqualification.
  • Not covering asana categories: 5 marks per category not covered (5 / 10 / 15 / 20). Missing more than four → disqualification.
  • Each infringement is one line of the evaluator's penalty ledger (why, which item, how much); it is applied once and subtracted from the final score. A whole-pair incident entered by both Artistic Pair evaluators counts once. The evaluator only recommends a disqualification - the chief judge decides.

Artistry & timing (music events)

  • A judge - Costume 1, Theme and music 1, Character and expression 3, Rhythm and steps 10, Floor use 5 = 20, minus the judge's own deductions. Artistry = the average of the two A judges.
  • T judge (time) - whole routine: 150-160 s = 3; 161-170 s = 4; 171-180 s = 5. Each pose held 5 s or more with everyone in position = 0.5 (up to 5). Timing = the average of the two T judges.
  • Anything the specification leaves to be confirmed (the overtime boundary, the 4 / 5 second rule, the music events' penalty amounts) is a setting in rulebook/marking.py.
